This is the first full-scale monograph on the life and work of the British artist Merlyn Evans (1910-73).
Raised in Glasgow Evans very soon committed himself to producing art that engaged with real life. Cubism, abstraction and surrealism studies contributed to a distinctive visual language, reflecting his psychological, ethical and political concerns.
This Merlyn Evans book follows the career of this little known artist and beautifully illustrates his development from his beginnings as a painter which later evolved into printmaking.
