In 1909, Lucien Pissarro caught the tranquil essence, touched with an everyday pathos of a snow-laden Stamford Brook Green where he lived.. The work reflects Pissarro's adept integration of Impressionist techniques with the distinct atmosphere of West London. Having settled in the area in 1897, Pissarro was intimately familiar with its landscapes, often drawing inspiration from its seasonal transformations.
