Pamela Burns ChalkSeaII-1

3 - 23 December 2015

Pamela Burns (b.1938) has an instinct for what lies at the heart of landscape. Her paintings are richly abstract, exploring tone, form and texture in enticing ways, yet they are also drawn directly from the land, echoing the ridges and contours of coastal tidemarks and ancient hills. There is technical brilliance in the mesmeric repeated lines that have become her leitmotif, and a poetic vision in producing paintings that speak so strongly with such mystery. She works and lives in Pembrokeshire.
